Movies that are absolutely the best to watch during this lockdown time

Lockdown period can be boring and frustrating too. You are unable to go out for any sort of recreation and fun with your friends and family. And household chores are never-ending. Hence, to make yourself feel better and fresh, watching movies at home can be one of the ways. So, let us have a look on the list of those 'The Best' kinda movies, which are available at Amazon Prime Videos, Hotstar and YouTube.

I am listing down some of the not-so-highly-promoted movies, which went underrated, but these movies are really worth to watch as they have some message to deliver for this society. These are not only my favourites but also the ones which I recommend to everyone to watch with the entire family. I hope you will also love watching them. The list of these movie names goes like this:

1. Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain

This romantic-drama Hindi film had its world premiere on 15th December 2017 at 14th Annual South Asian International Film Festival, where it won the Audience Choice Best Film Award. The movie revolves around the marital relationship of Yashwant Batra (Sanjay Mishra) and his wife, Kiran (Ekavali Khanna). Sanjay Mishra has portrayed the character of a man who believes that expressing love and care is not-so-important in any relation. According to his viewpoint, married life is all about duties and responsibilities. As a result, his married life goes towards unwanted separation. However, the movie is to watch how he wins back his wife's love and heart with the help of his daughter and son-in-law.

Each and every actor has beautifully played and justified their character and roles. Pankaj Tripathi has also played in this film, as a character name of Feroz, who has played an important role in the film. This movie has been shot in our very own Holy city, Varanasi.

I would suggest to you all, watch this film as it is a completely relatable romantic drama film which has a powerful social message for all.

2. Trapped

This movie got released during the year 2016 under the genre of survival drama. When this movie was premiered at Mumbai Film Festival, it received a standing ovation. Rajkumar Rao, who played the role of the protagonist, Shaurya, did the commendable job in his character. According to my view, this movie was complete the one-man movie.

Amazingly, the complete movie has been shot in an apartment at Prabhadevi, Mumbai and that too in just 20 days!

The Trapped movie shows the story of an employee of a call centre who accidentally locks himself in a newly rented apartment, which is uninhabited by anyone else and this fact was unknown to him. While fighting for survival without food, water and electricity, he plots for his escape.

The soundtrack, cinematography, story of this film and yes, Rajkumar's flawless acting makes this film a 'must-watch' for all movie-lovers.

3. Nil Battey Sannata

Shot in Agra, Uttar Pradesh this movie touches the soul of its every viewer. This comedy-drama film depicts the harsh reality of our society. This film is based on the fact that every person has a right to dream for his life, irrespective of his social class. Swara Bhaskar, who has played the role of a single mom, Chanda Sahay, is a high school drop out, works very hard as a household maid to earn her livelihood. She dreams for her daughter, Apeksha aka Appu (Riya Shukla) that she will be a "Collector' one day But Apeksha is an unambitious student who does not want to complete her SSC as she believes that she even has to do the same job that her mother does. Frustrated by her daughter's attitude, Chanda decided to restart her education so that she can somehow motivate Apeksha to work hard in her studies.

Do watch this film to see whether Chanda's dream come true as her daughter becoming a District Magistrate and Collector.

With her impeccable acting, both Swara and Riya have totally justified their characters. Moreover, Pankaj Tripathi, as Apeksha's school Principal, adds more life to the storyline of this film.

4. Masaan

Before writing and sharing anything about this movie, I would ask you all to watch the official trailer of this movie, Masaan.

So, how did you feel about this movie trailer? Isn't it intriguing? I am sure you all must be agreeing to this. So, now just understand that if the trailer of this movie is so good, then how good will be the whole storyline?

This movie was the directorial debut of Neeraj Ghaywan with the amazing star cast of Richa Chadda, Vicky Kaushal, Shweta Tripathi and Sanjay Mishra. The soundtracks of the movie are also very meaningful with heart touching lyrics. The famous one is "To Kisi Rail si.."

The movie shows the story of two different families of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh that meets up at the end. Richa Chadda played the character of a college teacher, Devi Pathak, who is a daughter of Vidyadhar Pathak (Sanjay Mishra). A police Inspector catches up in Devi who was barely clad in a hotel indulged in a private moment with his student, Piyush Agarwal. To hush up the case, Inspector asks Devi and father to pay him a bribe of INR 3,00,000 else he will upload Devi's barely clad video at YouTube. From here onwards, the life of Devi and Vidyadhar starts getting difficult and vulnerable as both of them wants to shake off the social stigma.

On the other hand, Deepak Kumar (Vicky Kaushal) who belongs to the Dom community falls in love with Shalu Gupta (Shweta Tripathi) who is from the upper Hindu caste family. Unfortunately, Shalu dies in a road accident and her body reaches the same cremation ground where Deepak and her family works. Deepak gets completely shattered on her beloved's death.

To know what happens next in both two stories, you have to watch this movie. This movie is available on Hotstar App. Overall, this movie is engaging, gripping and leaves a deep impression on the mind of its viewers.
