Lipsticks are the best friend of a girl. It not only lit up her face but also uplifts her mood. It brings charm to a dull and monotonous day. Be it a Satin, Glossy, or a Matte finish, lipsticks play an important role in complete makeup.
My personal favourites are of matte-finished, hence I have a pretty good collection of matte-finished lipstick. They suit every dress code and they never go out of fashion. Whether it is a nude shade or a bright one, matte is always matte. They are long-lasting in their staying power and comfortable to wear too.
So let us check out Top 5 Matte Lipsticks for Fair to Medium skin tone.
1. Lakme Absolute Matte Revolution Lipsticks
These lipsticks are feather-like in their texture and have a creamy matte finish. They glide like butter and does not make your lips dry and patchy. They do not accentuate the fine lines as well. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and give an excellent pay-off in just a single swipe.
It is so comfortable that it does not feel that you have applied something on your lips. Lakme Absolute Matte Revolution is a collection of 20 shades of gorgeous matte lipsticks that are long-wear too. Although they do not survive heavy meals, they leave a beautiful stain on your lips. 2. Wet N Wild Megalast Lipcolour
Wet N Wild Megalast Lipcolour collection is from the semi-matte finish. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and give a perfect opacity in just a single swipe. I love their comfortable creamy texture and formula. It is non-drying and does not make you feel cakey.
The total shades in this Megalast collection are wide and vivid covering every beautiful shade that will suit every Indian skin tone. The staying power is pretty decent which is approximately four to 5 hours and some shades are capable to survive heavy meals too.
Wet N Wild Megalast Lipcolour retails for INR 295 for 3.3g of net volume.
The only thing which I did not like about this lipstick is the packaging. The bullet shape is not so user-friendly. One has to be super attentive while closing the lip because the shape makes the lid somewhat messy leading to product wastage. (I believe it will get clear by seeing the attached image)

3. Nykaa Paintstix
Nykaa Paintstix, as the name implies, is a collection of shades ranging from neutrals to bolds. Wide range of colours with soft and comfortable texture makes it one of my favourites. The lasting power of Nykaa Paintstix is pretty decent in comparison to other matte lipsticks.
Although these lipsticks are not completely matte, once they dry, they give out a perfect matte finish. Moreover, they are comfortable to wear and some shades leave out a beautiful stain after getting fade. The shades are highly pigmented and deliver an excellent colour pay-off in a single glide.
Nykaa Paintstixs are affordable to purchase and widely available at different online beauty stores with good discounts and offers. Although, it retails for MRP Rs 425.
The packaging is also colour coded with a matte finished sturdy body. Colour-coded packaging helps to identify the correct shade easily. However, you will not find the name of the shade on the actual pack of this lipstick apart from the shade number.

4. Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick - Shade Preview
This lipstick is a combination of longevity and moisturized lips. Once you apply this beautiful pink shade o your lips and you will get all-day colour, moisturized lips, and soft suede finish. It is not glossy neither a pure dry matte, but it settles down in powder matte finish. It retails for INR 650 and widely available in India.
Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks are 100% transfer-proof and stay for more than 12 hours without any need of retouch.
The shade number 070 Preview is a beautiful light pink colour with purple undertones. It is highly pigmented, hence in a single swipe, it gives a perfect opacity. Sharing with you all it swatch here in the following image.
The only bummer which I can associate with this lipstick range is the packaging. The bullet does not get inside into its black cover easily, which makes the transparent lid cover little messy.
5. Elle 18 Color Pop Matte Lipsticks
Elle 18 is my favourite brand whenever I pick my lipstick for everyday use. The packaging of its lipsticks is always very beautiful and sleek. Its each and every shade of its matte lipsticks range is beautiful and worth to try. They come in buttery soft texture. The pigmentation is simply amazing. Lipstick will glide on your lips very smoothly without tugging and looking patchy, however, you may need two swipes to get enough opaque finish. Through these lipsticks, you will get a satin-matte finish. It does not bleed but partially transfers. The staying power is average which is 5 hours.
The dark shades of Elle 18 Color Pop Matte Lipsticks are good for pigmented lips. A shade like W11 Cherry wine will suit every Indian skin tone.
